The American two-dollar bill has a strange existence. It is legal tender, still produced, and yet most people have never spent one. That makes a crisp uncirculated example a genuine conversation piece, and for currency collectors it is exactly the kind of note worth holding onto.



This Series 2017A note was issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (District 12, prefix L), serial number L 01868782 B. Signatories are Jovita Carranza (Treasurer) and Steven T. Mnuchin (Secretary of the Treasury). The obverse carries the Thomas Jefferson portrait and the reverse features John Trumbull's painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The note presents in uncirculated condition with crisp paper and sharp printing. There is a minor centering offset, within normal tolerance, and a possible faint bend at the upper right corner. No star notation confirms this is a standard run note.
