Overview
A 1956 Ford Thunderbird two-seat convertible finished in red with a red and cream two-tone interior. The vehicle is left hand drive with an automatic transmission and a floor-mounted shifter with a legible P R N D gate.
The dashboard features a Thunderbird-branded AM radio with Town and Country bands, a heater control panel with temperature and air direction settings, an analogue clock, a tachometer and a full instrument cluster with fuel, oil, generator and temperature gauges. An aftermarket Aiwa cassette or radio unit is fitted beneath the glovebox on the passenger side. The door trims are finished in cream pleated vinyl with red upper sections and chrome trim panels with chrome door handles. A jack and wheel brace are visible in the boot. Condition
The exterior red paintwork presents with a gloss finish across all panels. Chrome bumpers, grille surround, headlight bezels, tail light bezels and rear-mounted continental spare wheel carrier are fitted. Thunderbird script badges are visible on both rear quarter panels and a Ford crest badge is fitted to each front guard. The bonnet carries a Thunderbird Ford wing badge. Whitewall tyres are fitted on all four corners with chrome hubcaps featuring a red Ford crest centre cap. The whitewalls show some discolouration and soiling. Scratches are visible on the paint of the rear quarter panel on the passenger side.
Inside, the bench seat is trimmed in red and cream two-tone vinyl. The driver side seat bolster shows wear and scuffing. A stain is visible on the passenger footwell carpet. The black rubber floor mat at the driver footwell shows wear. The dashboard pad upper surface near the windscreen shows cracking. The tachometer lens is cracked. The red carpet throughout the cabin shows general wear. The steering wheel is red with a chrome horn ring and a Ford crest centre cap.
The engine bay houses a V-configuration engine with Thunderbird-branded valve covers. An ACDelco battery is fitted on the passenger side. The engine bay appears tidy with painted red inner guards.
The boot is lined with a plaid fabric and contains a jack and wheel brace. A continental spare wheel is mounted externally at the rear.
