2015 Gallipoli Landing 100th Anniversary Coloured Commemorative Medallion - Limited Edition of 1,000

A hundred years on from that April morning in 1915, this 2015 commemorative piece captures the gravity and sacrifice of the Gallipoli Landing with imagery that is both historically evocative and genuinely well-executed. Limited to just 1,000 pieces.

Description

Issued in 2015 to mark the centenary of the Gallipoli Landing (1915-2015), this privately produced commemorative medallion presents the defining moments of that chapter of Australian and New Zealand history across two carefully designed faces. The obverse depicts the iconic Gallipoli Landing scene with ships and soldiers approaching the shore, inscribed "Gallipoli Landing 1915-2015 100th Anniversary." The reverse features an ANZAC soldier in silhouette alongside the Ode of Remembrance: "At The Going Down Of The Sun And In The Morning We Will Remember Them." Colour detailing is applied to the obverse scene. The piece is produced in cupro-nickel with a 999.0 fine silver finish. Please note: this is a silver-finished commemorative medallion, not solid silver, and is not legal tender. Housed in a clear acrylic capsule and accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity. Limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide. The photos show both sides clearly, with imagery that is respectful and striking. A meaningful commemorative for ANZAC collectors and for families with a connection to that history.
